Prior to joining the Dionne Schulze team, Léa Lemay Langlois worked with human rights organisations in Guatemala. As a volunteer legal advisor for Lawyers Without Borders Canada, she contributed to the litigation of cases related to transitional justice and gender.
Léa Lemay Langlois wrote her LL.M. thesis on Canada’s international obligations regarding the disappearances of Indigenous women. During her studies at UQAM, she assisted Prof. Bernard Duhaime in his work for the United Nations Working Group on enforced or involuntary disappearances. She was also involved with the International Clinic for the Defense of Human Rights and she held different positions for the Quebec Journal of International Law. In addition, she worked as a summary writer for Éditions Yvon Blais as well as in a community organisation for housing rights.
